Writing & Quilting

I have always been a voracious reader. My Momma often tells the story of how when she was trying to teach me to read (I was homeschooled), I would fight tooth and nail and just refuse to try. After some prodding, she finally got it out of me that I was afraid if I learned how to read, she and my Daddy would stop reading TO me. She quickly reassured me that they would still read to me, and that if I learned how to read, I wouldn’t have to wait for one of them to read to me. That changed things! From then on I devoured books.

In high school, I enjoyed writing fan fiction and poetry. Then college hit and it kills all creativity! Once I graduated college, I had a small baby, and well, the last decade has been spent in toddlerhood of 4 daughters. I kept a blog during my oldest’s first year, but haven’t really been able to write since then.

My little quilting business turns 5 this February, and to say they last 5 years have been a whirlwind would be an understatement. I am so thankful for all the customers I have served over the last five years, and I’m so excited to see what the next 5 brings me!

I hope to use this blog to both showcase new quilting designs I’m working on, and also write about homeschooling, working from home, and Appalachia. I hope you’ll join me here, and that I’m able to bless you with my “voice".
